These terms govern your use of Mason AI. Please read them carefully before using the service.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Mason AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
Description of Service
Mason AI provides AI-assisted plan review software for licensed plan review professionals, including private plan reviewers, plans examiners, and plan checkers. The service analyzes uploaded plan sets, surfaces potential code conflicts, provides supporting code citations, and assists in drafting comment letters. All outputs are intended to support professional review, not to replace it. The service is provided on a subscription basis as described at checkout.
Professional Responsibility
Mason AI is a tool designed to support licensed professionals. It is not a replacement for professional judgment, licensing, or expertise. The reviewing professional is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and professional quality of any plan review or comment letter they produce, regardless of whether Mason AI outputs were used. Mason AI does not practice architecture, engineering, or plan review, and nothing in the service constitutes professional advice. You must hold any required licenses and comply with applicable laws and professional standards in your jurisdiction.
Account Registration
To use the service, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@withmason.ai if you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account. We reserve the right to disable accounts that we determine have been compromised or that violate these terms.
Acceptable Use
You may use Mason AI only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not use the service to produce plan reviews you are not licensed or authorized to perform. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying technology of the platform. You may not upload content that you do not have the legal right to process, including third-party documents shared without authorization. You may not attempt to circumvent security controls, access other users' data, or interfere with the operation of the service. Violations may result in immediate account suspension.
Intellectual Property
Mason AI and its underlying technology, software, algorithms, and interface design are owned by Mason AI and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission. You retain ownership of all documents you upload to the service. By uploading documents, you grant Mason AI a limited, non-exclusive license to process those documents for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. This license terminates when your account is closed or when documents are deleted per the data retention schedule in our Privacy Policy.
Payment and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed on the schedule described at checkout (monthly or annual). All fees are due in advance. Free trial terms are specified at signup. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first paid period for new subscribers. No refunds are provided after 30 days except where required by applicable law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers. Failure to pay may result in suspension of service.
Termination
Either you or Mason AI may terminate your account at any time. You may close your account through the account settings or by contacting hello@withmason.ai. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or whose payments are overdue after a reasonable notice period. Upon termination, your access to the service will cease and your data will be deleted per the timeline described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Mason AI makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI-generated outputs are free of errors, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved. You use the service at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mason AI's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these terms or the service is limited to the amounts you paid to Mason AI in the 12 months preceding the claim. Mason AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these limits may not apply to you.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to these terms or the service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you must stop using the service before they take effect.
